The 5 Things You Must Do Online Now

We test a lot of stuff here at ROARlocal.

We’ve gotten some astonishing data that would make you a ton of cash :-)

Because it’s nearly Christmas I’ve decided to share with you the Factors That Influence Purchases the Most.

Here’s the factors that influence purchases the most, (in order of % respondents):

  • 55% Free Post and Packing
  • 37% Last Minute Sales
  • 29% Coupons
  • 16% Gift Sets or Complementary Items
  • 8% Flexible Payment Plans

What do all these factors have in common?

They all make great promotions. Purchase decisions are influenced more by promotions than by anything else by far.

If you need more convincing, take a look at some of the other numbers we’ve run:

  • Second most common activity of online shoppers: 73% Look for Discounts/Promos
  • 25% purchased a gift from Daily Deal during the festive season

Take Action

Prepare your promotional strategy today.

  1. Offer free post and packing, even if only for a limited time, on certain items and/or minimum purchases
  2. Plan some last minute sales on products you need to move or on loss leaders
  3. Offer coupons. If the discount you can offer is a small percentage of the regular price, use a pound amount instead of the percentage off.
  4. Offer complementary products as a give-away or drastic price reduction
  5. Offer payment options for big ticket items

If you already offer any or all of these, make sure your customers know it.

The numbers make it clear: promotions capture your customers’ attention. So promote.
