One of these pages converted at 19.3% with earnings per click (EPC) of £7.50

Which Landing Page Won?

So you’ve been reading my posts for a while.

Think you know a thing or 2 about marketing?

Wanna put yourself to the test?

OK test yourself here

One of these pages converted at 19.3% with earnings per click (EPC) of £7.50

Yes I know the EPC looks weird but you’ll get it when you see the page:

Here’s the 2 pages:

Page 2

First thing you’ll notice is page 1 is short and to the point and page 2 is a much longer looking page where you have to scroll to read it all.

In fact page 2 resembles LOTS of pages we’re called in to optimise.

So which one made twice as much money?

If you said page 1 you’d be ….. wrong.

It was page 2.

Why is that?

Well when we did the test we started with some assumptions we wanted to test.

1. Pages with good graphics sell better.

2. You must have those little call out graphics and use a BIG buy now button.

3. Making people scroll is bad (their is a rule that says everything must be above the fold).

As you can see this is the established dogma most of the guru’s tell you.

As the facts reveal in this case they’re wrong.

What does that mean for you?

It means you’re probably leaving a ton of money on the table by not testing.

You might also want to try listening to people who are spending their own money to test things instead of just teaching the same old rehashed crap ;-)
